Meet Cassidy
iCANdance Program Director & Instructor
Cassidy Negri is a native of Zelienople, Pennsylvania, and received her early training at Siri’s School of the Performing Arts. Cassidy is a double alum of Slippery Rock University receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance with a dual concentration in Business Administration and Performance & Choreography in 2018 and her Masters of Science degree in Adapted Physical Activity in 2019.
Throughout her time at Slippery Rock, Cassidy performed in various student showcases, faculty works, and had the privilege of being a member of Rock Dance Company. Rock Dance Company performs educational dance programs for local preschool and elementary students, senior populations, charitable and community events. She has worked with renowned choreographers including, Ursula Payne, Nora Ambrosio, Ballet Philippines, Kumu Lanakila, Oceana Dance Theatre, Jennifer Keller, Attack Theatre, Chrisala Brown and Thom Cobb. Her own choreography has been showcased in Slippery Rock’s Dance Theatre.
Currently, Cassidy is the Founder and Program Director of iCANdance, an adapted dance program that provides classes to the local special needs community, provides mentoring to upcoming professionals in the field, researches, and writes about the growing field of adapted dance. She is also working with Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania in their school sector.
